Tips on Hiring a Pro It’s time for you to take control of your real estate experience through the interview process. Understand that you are interviewing the Realtor as well as them interviewing you. You are both looking for a “match”. Your comfort level during the transaction will be directly proportionate to the degree of trust you have in them.
THE INTERVIEW
You should begin by briefly sharing your goals and intentions and let them explain how their service will meet your needs. Pay attention to their ability to present and fully describe their service to you. If they cannot skillfully extol the benefits of their service to you, how do you expect them to professionally advocate your interests during the transaction?
A good presentation will cover and include issues such as:
1. A resume’ containing both personal and professional information.
2. Related service providers for your convenience.
3. A plan designed to accomplish your goals.
4. A discussion of times of availability and scheduling for each party.
5. Client surveys indicating a high degree of satisfaction.
Before concluding the interview you should have formed opinions of their professionalism, product knowledge, attention to detail, communication skills, and their commitment to keep and maintain your interest as primary. Trust your instincts, they are usually correct. If you are not convinced by this face to face meeting, keep looking. You have not yet found the professional to represent your interest.
If you find this information helpful, we welcome the opportunity to present our services to you. The interview should always be a warm and friendly exchange of information, devoid of any sales pressure. It is our practice to empower clients with options so they can make informed decisions.
